Reeling Them In

I didn’t have a very particular audience in mind for my blog, although considering how I have looked to my classmates’ blogs for inspiration and understanding of what mine should be, my peer group (aesthetically-minded university students) is clearly a demographic that is influencing my decisions. I think my blog could appeal to a fairly wide-ranging audience, but probably skews younger, and my posts will appeal to somewhat literary and analytically minded (and therefore relatively educated) people. The younger influence of my blog contributes to its design in the sense that its aesthetic is more vibrant than professional looking, and emulates certain platforms I’ve seen that make similar content (such as Instagram pages for editorials and podcasts, and Tumblr blogs). So far I have a very basic layout with an accessibility feature, so the design is quite accessible to basically any audience. As I develop my blog and content I may become more focused on a specific aesthetic, layout, and content.
