My name is Rhys, and I love all things media-related, but especially movies. For many of us, movies are much more than just entertainment– how much of what you understand about the world came from seeing it in a movie? I made this blog to explore what movies have to say about media itself, whether that be the television/film industry, news media, social media or its other incarnations. I won’t claim to know the shocking truths of how THE MEDIA operates, but seeing how it’s depicted in the movies gives us insight on how it affects our lives. Movies are funhouse mirrors of reality– distorted and exaggerated, but some underlying truth is there– and they find unique ways to talk about our media landscape.
